The Biggest Losers

Jeremy recorded The Biggest Loser for me since I was going to be late last night. So as we sit down to watch it Jeremy tells me about the amazing spinach and artichoke dip his sister dropped by today. This is what I love about myself and my dearest Jeremy.

We proceed to pull out the spinach dip (at 10:05 I might add) and while we're at it get out the egg nog and Oreos (double stuff to boot). We both were laughing at how bad we were for snacking (horribly) during the show. We are such dorks!

In my defence, I only had a few crackers with the dip, watered down the nog with some milk, and foregoed the Oreos completely! So, I might have saved myself a few calories- but no shame.

Hit Counter

I installed a hit counter on the top of the page...just for curiosity's sake. I'm sure it won't be accurate with the added hits from myself checking my blog for comments, but its all in fun.

And speaking of hit counters, I wish that we could install a hit counter on Brynnlee. That girl is getting a little crazy. Kaden is pretty patient with a sister who insists on beating the crap out of him regularly. Her favorite tactic though, is to sit on Kaden's back and proceed to yank on his sweet red hair. Poor guy, his face is sooo sad when he looks to me to rescue him from his monstrous sissy.

Jeremy told me Sienna was throwing herself out of her stroller the other day (which Brynnlee is a pro at) so at least that is some consolation. Maybe Brynnlee isn't a maniac- just acting her age. Or at least acting like Sienna, so I'm not alone in my plight.

All in a Dazzzzzzz......

I'm just posting to let you know having to wake up at 5:30 to watch kids is getting really old, really fast. Right now I would like to be lying on the couch taking a short break from my part-time jobs of chasing, referreeing, and entertaining but Brynnlee is refusing to nap. And rather than letting her cry and risk waking everyone else up- I'll just give into her no-nap-streak, for now.

Good thing I got out the Little People Nativity this morning- there's something to keep her occupied while I take a vacation in cyberspace.

Well, since we're all talking about it...

I figured everyone else divulges all their terrible mommy moments I might as well shed some light on my recent folly.

Saturday night Jeremy and I were wanting to watch DaVinci Code. We had rented it before Thanksgiving and had yet to get it anywhere near the DVD player. So I'm trying to put Kaden to bed so we can get crackin on this show.

However, Kaden is a little tricky to get to bed these days. He has to have the blankets just so. He can't have any sheets or comforter touching him. No, those have to be pushed to the bottom of the bed and only the 7 fleece "soft blankies" he has can touch him. There are two favorites his "ball blankie" and "star blankie". Those are the two most requested blankets to keep him cozy at night and during naps.

Well on said night I pushed the sheet and comforter down, put ball blankie on and properly flipped star blankie over. The stars on the blanket have to be facing up at night and down during the day (ie nap time).

Jeremy and I get the movie going and only a few minutes into it we hear the cries of Kaden. So we stop the movie and Jeremy goes up the check on Kaden. When he comes down you'll never believe what he says to me.

"Why won't you flip his blankets over?"

My thoughts are 'what are you talking about. I flipped the star blanket over, what else is there?'.

"He's up there crying because his mommy won't put the balls away. I've had to go change it the last few nights because you won't do it right."

Apparently, even though I thought I was being the best mom because I was patiently giving into each of my childs crazy demands, I haven't. I have been leaving a step out and leaving a sour taste in his mouth. The ball blanket has to be face down at night and face up during the day- which I have been neglecting-BECAUSE 'we put our toys away when the stars come out'. Talk about a crappy mom- I can't even get the OCD requests right.

Lins I don't know if Carson can come over anymore if he's going to teach Kaden to be so particular about weird stuff, I'm not sure how much more I can take.

Happy Thanksgiving

Its all alphabetical ladies...

So if you haven't noticed, you might want to scroll down to the "Stuff I Like" section and check out your blogs all listed nicely in a row. This is for convenience in doing the blog checks- its all in one location. No need to thank me, I will know in my heart how much you appreciate it.

Tonight there will be 24 people at my house for dinner. Can you believe that? I'm still wondering how I am going to fit that many people around tables in our house, but I'll keep you updated. Engagement dinner tonight and Thanksgiving on Thursday- could there be any more food this week?

You might not recognize me at church on Sunday (no, not because I'm inactive) but because of the astonishing weight gain that might occur in the next 48 hours. Wish me luck and lot of will power. I have a feeling both will come in handy over the next few meals.

Me and My Big Mouth

All that talk about a great weekend. Seriously, that is the last time I gloat about having a fun weekend planned. Friday was good and Saturday started out the same, however early in the afternoon I began to feel the dreaded ache and stiff neck- the telltale signs that I willl be coming down with something soon. And so the weekend continued with me not so great on Sunday as well. This morning I am recovering, but still feeling like I just want to lay around. I'll just have to look ahead to the upcoming Holiday Weekend. Who's going Black Friday Shopping??

Friday, November 17, 2006

It's Friday morning and I am already getting anxious! There are only 7.5 hours till I am free from kids whom I didn't give birth to. Really, I don't mind babysitting but it definitely makes my weekends just that much more enjoyable and relaxing. There are two days I only have two children to worry about. I can't wait.

And for a few hours tonight I won't even have my own children to worry about! I'll be responsible soley for my own actions. Adult conversation and food I haven't had to cook! The weekends ROCK!

Oh wait!! There is more. I'm sure your wondering how it could get any better but the weekend continues to climb upward because Deb is having her show today and tomorrow! So if any of you want to go around 3:30 give me a call! I'll be basking in thoughts of my delightful weekend to come.

Anyone else think I am "Inactive"?

So last night as I was dutifully doing my visiting teaching, my partner mentioned to the sisters at each visit that I would be attending Enrichment on Thursday. From all surprised looks and "Oh thats great" comments last night, one might think I attended church merely once a quarter!

I realize that I am pretty lax when it comes to the Relief Society activities but in my defense I was out of town for the 3 Enrichments that I knew of! It's not that I don't want to come, but I haven't gotten a reminder call in quite some time... and if you want something from me I'll need a reminder call. (Just ask Rebecca how many things I forgot to bring to YWIE last Wednesday).

So tomorrow I will embark on journey I haven't taken in a while. I return to the land of Relief Society- freezer jam, bookmarks, chairleg painting, pumpkin cookoff and all! I'm excited- but hopefully all those shocked at my presence will be able to keep the gasps and stares to a minimum, and save this inactive sister some embarrassment.

The Girl I Used To Be

She came tonight as I sat alone
The girl I used to be.
And she gazed at me with her earnest eye
And questioned reproachfully:

Have you forgotten the many plans
And hopes I had for you?
The great career, the splendid fame,
All the wonderful things to do?

Where is the mansion of stately height
With all its gardens rare?
The silken robes that I dreamed for you
And the jewels in your hair?

And as she spoke, I was very sad,
For I wanted her pleased with me,
This slender girl from the shadowy past,
The girl that I used to be.

So gently rising, I took her hand
And guided her up the stairs
Where peacefully sleeping, my babies lay,
Innocent, sweet, and fair.

And I told her that these are my only gems,
And precious they are to me;
That silken robes is my motherhood
Of costly simplicity.

And my mansion of stately height is love,
And the only career I know
Is serving each day in these sheltered walls
For the dear ones who come and go

And as I spoke to my shadowy guest,
She smiled through her tears at me.
And I saw the woman that I am now
Pleased the girl I used to be.

Blogger Beta

Yesterday as I was checking my blog I noticed the invitation to switch to Blogger Beta. I debated as to whether or not I should take the plunge. I even thought about posting a poll as to what others thought about switching. But I decided to make the decision on my own and switch.

Yeah, that might have been a bad decision. I had nothing but trouble trying to log into the "new" account yesterday and this morning. I was having to change my password everytime I would log in, but after a long search of the help topics I figured out the bugs (or so I think). So hopefully this will prove to be a good decision, but only time will tell. Good luck to those trying to switch to Beta!!

Every third post

I'm starting to feel like every few posts I need to be apologizing for a taking a break. So to all from here on out just know I'm sorry that I can't be updating as often as I would like.

Yesterday was the primary program. It was really good, I just wish we weren't stuck in the overflow (could have been worse, as there was a secondary overflow back to the middle of the gym). Brynnlee was a little wiggly so I wasn't totally concentrating on every word spoken but the songs are what I really like anyway. And the songs were all wonderful.

Kaden was so cute during sacrament meeting. He couldn't have been more excited that the kids were singing songs he recognized! He would sing along with them and the few he didn't know he asked me to help him conduct so he could be like "Leo". I can't believe how he is growing up. It is weird to think he will be participating in primary in a few months. We have started talking about going to primary, but I'm sure he doesn't quite get it. It might be a sad day for him when the bubbles and snacks are a distant faded memory.

Even weirder is the fact that Brynners will be in the nursery realm in a few months too! I'm excited but not getting my hopes up seeing as she ALWAYS has a cold. I think she has permanently had a runny nose for the last 6 weeks with a few breaks here and there. I'll I can say is I hope it really revs up her immune system and eventually she will NEVER get sick.

A mother's dream, I know.

Superbowl X, maybe???

My nephew Spencer's football team, The Titans, is headed to the "Superbowl" where they will match up with the Bullpups this Saturday. It should be an exciting game, pending no asthma attacks or crazy parent meltdowns. If anyone wants to join us we'll be at Fran Rish at 10 am. Come with your faces painted and all the spirit you can muster for the 10 -year old showdown!! It should be great!

Dun Da Da Dun!

OK. I am the biggest slacker when it comes to scrapbooking journaling. Well, I'm a big slacker in the normal journaling too, but we'll not talk about that this post.

The problem is that I don't have that many alpha stamps and really don't like my handwriting so I just slap pictures on there and call it good. I figured it wasn't perfect, but no one would scorn me for it. BUT I have been feeling guilty about it and of course after reading some of Nicole's pages for Zoe my guilt level was raised even more.

Anyway, thanks to someone's blog (I can't remember who's - maybe Kim's?) I linked to a whole page of wonderful FREE fonts to download, and journaled a few pages in the most adorable fonts! Yeah, no more complaining about having to buy 50 different stamp fonts! I can do it all from the comfort of the couch without getting out a single stamp or ink pad. My scrapbooks may now have a little more heart in them! We'll see how long it continues..... anyone want to come over Saturday??

All I want is....

I come up with a clever post and I was expecting a whole lot more from you guys. Is it too much to ask for a little validation with a comment??? Jackie, Karen thanks for your support. The rest of you, I don't know. I'll seriously have to reflect on the relationship I thought we had.

Please, Donate Now

For only a $1.00 a day you could make the difference between having three hot meals each day or eating 15 lbs of cold un-nourishing candy for the next three months.

I got the pictures to upload, unfortunately I had to do them one at a time (and they still took forever) but here they are. Hope you enjoy our kids as much as we do.

Halloween Night

I still can't get the pictures from Utah to upload, so who knows what is going on there. However, these pictures from last night uploaded just fine.

This afternoon as I was looking at the HUGE bowl of candy on the counter I got curious... So I hauled the massive bowl upstairs and laid it all out on the scale.

It registered at 15.2 lbs- yes, I am serious. An amazing haul for two tiny tots. No wonder Kaden was wanting me to carry his bucket half the night.

So in case you notice 15.2 extra lbs hanging around my "muffin top" -as Lindsay appropriately calls it- you'll know right where it came from. Gotta love Halloween!

Could Blogger be any more Lame??

OK. Day 2 of trying to post pictures is unsuccessful again!! This is really grating on my nerves. So check out these awesome pictures from my friend Jackie's blog. Her pictures are of the Rexburg Temple being constructed and the last one is AMAZING, to say the least. While you are there check out her link "Kevin's Art". Her husband has some good stuff going too.
