Whoa Nelly!

Jeremy had surgery this morning and we are happy to report that all went well.

However, I wonder how much the plastic surgeon will charge us for the Nelly Look-alike procedure. At least I have the chance to know what it feels like to be on the arm of a rap star... "It's getting hot in here".

Tim McGraw

I still remember the first time I heard this song. We were driving to Utah and I couldn't believe it when the DJ announced that this song was written and performed by a 16 year old. I was in shock! It was so good.

From the first time I heard this song I was hooked. I even tried to get a ringtone for my phone but Cingular only has the polyphonic one- too lame for me. So I'll just enjoy it on my blog, hope you do too.

Snowboarding

Saturday Jeremy and I headed over to Bluewood for a day of snowboarding. It was a rough start. First, we forgot our 2 for 1 ticket, and had to go back to the house to get it. Since we both forgot to charge our cell phones and don't have car chargers we headed to the store to pick one up. Jeremy forgot his keys so we had to turn around on the freeway to go home and pick them up. Then once we got to the store Jeremy accidentally set off the alarm and didn't have the code to turn it off. So after sitting there for about 10 minutes with the alarm blaring finally someone called back with the right code. And of course they didn't have chargers for either of our phones.

Then we were off, after a stop at Sunmart for a drink.

Once we got to Bluewood and started changing I asked Jeremy where my socks were.

"I didn't bring socks for you."

The night before I told him I didn't have socks and he said he had some for me- I assumed he would pack them. NOPE. And I didn't have a hat either. So lucky for us the lodge was having a buy 3 things and get 40% off sale. So after searching for a hat, finding some socks and a new stomp pad (I know I had one the last time we rode) we paid for everything and finished getting dressed.

Jeremy wasn't sure I was ready to go to the top after missing all last season and only going once the year before, so we took the tow rope up the bunny hill. I almost fell, but held on! After negotiating down the hill OK, we headed for the lift.

All in all it was a slow start but the day was so fun. Very windy, and it snowed all day but there was quite a bit of powder and not too much ice- which is important when you are falling as often as I am.

I'm getting better. Not once did I fall getting off the lift, and I usually could make it down the run only falling 3 or 4 times. I even slowly eased my way down a few hills with caution signs. I am still so sore and I can't really move my neck even after two days of recovery. But I can't wait to go again!! Anyone want join us??

White Trash 'Stache

These pictures have been hanging around in our computer for quite a while. A while back Jeremy grew a goatee and then thought it would be funny to shave it just leaving this.

It only lasted a few mintues after a hearty laugh from me and the girls at work, whom he emailed this pictures to. Breanne, my SIL, just posted about Warren (her husband) growing a mustache since its allowed at BYU-I. She shares my sentiments about this dispicable form of facial hair... YUCK.

I wanna go

In my 26 years (I know, I'm a baby) I haven't traveled much. The road to Utah has been well traveled in my life, but other than that not much. As kids our family took a trip to Mexico, by RV, and that was a huge ordeal. We went to DisneyWorld once, and DisneyLand more times than I can count and occasionally saw my grandparents in Seattle. But other than that I really haven't travelled. So in a tribute to my travel challenged life here are the places I wouldn't mind seeing:

1. Italy- #1 always and forever will be Italy. I took too many humanities classes in college to ever pass up a chance going there.

2. EAST- no not the Far East, I'm talking about the good old Eastern US. I have never been past Texas except for two plane trips to Florida.

3. South America- Seriously I could go anywhere here, I just want to see some ruins. Bek are you ready to take our Book Of Mormon Cruise??

4. Paris- no explaining here... every girls wants a chance to go to Paris.

5. Ireland/Scotland- its my roots, and c'mon who doesn't want to see all the lush green, crazy plaid and amazing castles.

Honestly this list could include EVERY country in the world because I don't think there is any place I would say I don't want to go (safety not being an issue). This world has some great things to offer and I hope I get a chance to see more of it in my lifetime.

No news is good news

Right?

Except when you are trying to update a blog- then it makes for one boring post. Nothing memorable is going down this Presidents Day, unless you count Costco and the trip to Maggie Moos.

Talk about falling off the good eating wagon- today was definitely a HOLIDAY.

That Makes My Day...

I love checking my comments! I'll freely admit that I probably put too much stock in them. After all, this blog is for me- not to feel validated by others' approval- but I do love the comments.

That being said, I think it is the BEST treat when someone you don't know comments on your blog! Don't get me wrong I love when my friends comment. And, truth be told, we all know if they didn't I would see a big O next to my comments day after day. But there is something satisfying about knowing that maybe you do have something worthwhile to say and people
are reading out of enjoyment rather than obligation.

So thanks Khatch, my Friday is offically good because you posted! Anyone else out there wanting to send a little love- comment away!

*I was trying to find a cheesy grin picture for the post and come to find out there are practically no pictures of me.... so just consider this dorky enough. I think it qualifies!

Valentine's Surprises

For six years now I have gotten out of bed early to create
Pink Heart Pancakes
for Valentines Day Breakfast.
I started this the first year Jeremy and I were married and it has continued on. It is a tradition I hope my family will look back on fondly.
I loved seeing Kaden and Brynnlee's surprise this morning as they realized there were "special" treats waiting for them on their breakfast plates.
One of my favorite things about being a parent is getting the chance to create magical holiday memories that will last forever! Hope you have some magic of your own today!

Great Day

Have you ever gotten out of bed and just knew it was going to be a great day? Today is one of those days, and I can't figure out why.

It's not like amazing things are happening today, Jeremy's out of town and my back is totally killing me but I just know this day has great things in store for me. I have just had a huge smile all day and everything feels right in the world.

Hopefully it will last longer than just a day.

I'm weird... here's some proof

Since I'm no quitter I've been tagged and will uphold my duty to continue the "6 Weirdnesses Game"...

1. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night to put chapstick on.

2. I can make my tongue into three loops, a talent my sister and I share.

3. I don't like when the light switches on double, triple, and quad plates aren't going the same direction. I will walk around the house and change them so they are correctly in the down position when they are off. They HAVE to be the same!

4. I don't chew gum that often, but if I do I can only have half a peice. I think the full stick makes me gag because its too much in my mouth. The dentyne and orbits I can do a full piece.

5. I hate Softsoap's clear gel hand soap. Everytime I smell it I feel like I am going to throw up, since that is what was in the soap dispenser for the first few weeks I was pregnant with Kaden. Now I am really particular in what soaps I will buy.

6. I don't like plain milk. I like flavored milk, milk in cereal, whatever! BUT I despise drinking virgin milk.

So, now to continue the game I'll tag Jackie, Eliza and Kristin.... don't sell out you three.

Lehman Hot Springs

The "campout" was fun. I love the fact that we were in heated cabins with beds. It was the perfect was to spend a cold weekend camping.

The worst part of the trip was after stopping in Pendleton for pizza everyone just kind of took off, leaving Jessica's car and my car in the parking lot. No one in my car had been to Lehman except for Rebecca. So speeding as fast as we could and NEVER catching up to anyone (I'm not sure how that works since two of the vehicles were towing trailors) amounted to us frantically calling people to see if we were heading in the right direction. Of course, not much reception going into the mountains.... so we left a lot of messages and recieve many voicemails in return. Rebecca felt like we were going in the right direction so we pressed on.... in the dark.... in some winding, wet roads.

Eventually, everyone pulled onto the side of the road to wait for us and Jessica, after finding out that Jessica had returned to Pendleton and Phyllis had called Brad to get directions. So much for sticking together. The best part of the story is that the Bishop took a wrong turn and led everyone a few miles on the wrong road! So maybe we were better off to be left to find the Hot Springs on our own.

It is amazing how much you can really get to know the girls when you spend just a whole 24 hours just one on one with them. I'm always glad when I get that chance to really reconnect.

The Beehives, much to my surprise, stayed up until about 1:30. We had so much fun playing games and talking. Then Sam came over and some of the girls went outside to TP the Mia Maids cabin. After making them come back inside at about 1 they couldn't stop laughing and giggling. Out of desperation Janna and I MADE them at least whisper so we could get some rest. I'm all about staying up, but I was getting sick and knew I had to drive home the next day so I had to get some sleep. It didn't really do me much good, since I had to use the bathroom like 4 times between 2 and 7 am.

Breakfast was delicious and I only allowed myself to split the tiniest cinnamon roll with Karen. I didn't die either. During lunch I used my same method and split a sandwich with Karen too! I told her maybe we should move in together until the contest is over so we can cut all our calories in half by splitting all our meals.

The hot springs were really nice, and I didn't want to get out! It made me wish we had a hot tub, but I guess we'll just have to make the drive out to Luke and Jessica's when they bring theirs home.

Anyway the trip was fun- and I can't wait to do it again next year.

Happy Groundhogs Day

Punxsutawney Phil didn't see his shadow today,
so you know what that means...
early Spring.

I'll hope the early spring starts this afternoon
as we make our way up to Lehman Hot Springs
to enjoy freezing in a cabin with the YW.
I"ll let you know how it went when I return!
Enjoy the weekend.

WHAT the HECK?!?!

I know we all thought Kaden was a tank weighing in at 9 lbs. 13 oz at birth, but check out this baby in Mexico. He makes Kaden look like a small fry!
