Down by the River in a Van
Today I met Kim, Alicia, and Nicole at the river for a walk. Let me tell you how great it was! I' thinking that my problem with the exercise slump I'm in could have a lot to do with the fact that I stare at CO2 Furniture across the parking lot for 45+ mins. a day and listen exclusively to the iPod or Sportscenter.
Being outside made a huge difference, and having some great people to converse with was even better. I'll still need to be dedicated to my early morning workouts, but maybe I need to do a little measuring on the streets so I can enjoy the fresh air and biking or running and acutally getting somewhere!

It does get easier...
I have been consistently running for 3 months now, and I still feel strained every step.
Don't get me wrong, there has been progress I've increased my speed and endurance but it is still so HARD! I guess I'm just wondering if I'll ever feel good during the run and not just after when I'm finished.
Maybe that is my problem. Maybe no one feels good during the run- just after. Have I created some idealistic picture in my head of running while the birds sing and I have a smile on my face just to be disappointed by reality?
What do you say runners? Is there a light at the end of the tunnel, or is it always dark until you emerge and begin the cooldown!

New, New, and Newer
I received a shipment of flowers every day last week and was in heaving planting every afternoon! Yesterday, I got my last shipment, *sniff* and yet I still have things I want to do to the yard. We spent this weekend finishing some yard projects, only to discover there is more we can always do.
One of my favorite things to do in the summer is go out early in the morning and check on all my stuff. I love seeing if new rose buds have appeared. If new strawberries, raspberries, peppers, or tomatoes, need to be picked and calculating how many zuccini's I need to give away that day! There is great satisfaction in checking up on your hard work.
Last, year I had fabulous sunflowers lining the garden fence. I'm hoping they come back this year (the package said perrennial) but I can't tell a difference between the weeds and the young sunflower plants- so I'm letting things go a little crazy in there for a few more weeks until I know for sure.
So, while we all wait with baited breath- enjoy Jewel. "A fat man takes my money" - the best line ever!

Time for a Name Change
So, ever since last summer when our church meeting time changed from glorious 11 am to 2 pm I have been scrambling for Sunday Dinners.
Lately I have taken to making a lot of crock pot meals, which have been great. My mother-in-law bought me this book a few years ago.
However, I do have one suggestion. If I were one of these ladies I would have definitely used a pen name when putting claim to my recipe book.
"Good and RANK" so appealing.

Easter Sunday
Here are some of the pictures we were able to take before church.
Sometimes Brynnlee was not into cooperating.
Brynnlee has been weaned from the binker for a while. Two days before Easter, I told Jeremy that I think Brynners had found all the stray binkers- we were finally finished.
She will randomly find lost binkies, and then we slit them. She plays with them until she decides she's finished with them and tosses them in the garbage.
Easter Sunday, Jeremy's mom came over for Brunch and brought with her a binky that she had found at her house. Brynnlee was so excited, we decided to wait to do the slitting until Monday- at least it matched her dress.
After Easter Dinner at the Beck's we have the annual Bunny Relay. The baton is usually those candy filled sticks topped with a bunny, but this year we used the bubble wands. Anyway, we split into teams and relay back and forth. The kids LOVE it and the adults, well we just play along!
Luckily I was racing against Jeremy, so there are no pictures of me doing the race.
Mike and Ryan sporting their ears.
Popping the bubbles with a broom.
When I cam outside this is what I saw! I'm glad no one else thought a crisp WHITE Easter dress wasn't supposed to be worn while playing in the dirt.

BACK from the dead...
Tuesday my visting teaching partner and I hosted our annual Luncheon. We figure it's an easy way to kill a ton of birds with one stone. We get to eat, have a playdate, visit teach, and chat with girlfriends all at once. How fun is that??
Funny story about this luncheon though...
Joy, my VT partner, insisted that I make the Southwest Eggrolls I put in the ward cookbood. They sounded so good and she really really wanted to try them. Great, right??
YEAH, except for the fact that I have never made them!! Really, who puts a recipe they have never tried in the ward cookbook? Hmmm.... that would be me.
I spotted this recipe on The Mommy Times and thought it looked so good. Since I was already in the middle of emailing my recipes for the cookbook I thought I would just slip this one in there too. That way I didn't have to write it out and put it in my file, I figured I'd just let someone else do the work for me. Hey, I'm just trying to use my time efficiently!!
Well, since I'm too embarrased to admit that I have never made the recipe I graciously accept her request to create my masterpiece.
All week I had planned to make the eggrolls for dinner to do a test run, and any possible tweaking that may have been needed. Well, Monday rolls around and I have yet to try my famous recipe. So at 8:30 pm I whip up a batch and Jeremy and I try my creation.
DIVINE!!!
Today, I hosted a baby shower with a full on brunch for at least 20 ladies. Call me crazy. No, I'm serious, go ahead and tell me now.
I'm lucky I pulled it all together with the quiches, mini muffins, fruit trays, homemade cream puffs, and juices I offered to contribute. Seriously, I bite off WAY more than I can chew TOO often. But it all manages to come together in the end.
There are blessings in being willing, because in the end everything seems to come together.
Anyway, I'm pleased to say it is all over and I'm free to check blogs again. Thanks for your patience!

Technical Assistance
Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance -- Particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.
In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5 and then installed undesirable programs such as NFL 5.0, NBA 3.0, and Golf Clubs 4.1. Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.
I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do?
Signed, Desperate
Dear Desperate:
First keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an Operating System. Please enter the command: "http: I Thought You Loved Me.HTML" and try to download Tears 6.2 and don't forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.
If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5. But remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5.
Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources).
Also, do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.
In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Food 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.

A Friend is a Treasure...
I like friends. I like friends who blog.
I love finding new blogs, and new friends!
There are tons of blogs out there, so I'm not talking about just any blog. I'm talking about a blog that I actually will return to over and over again. A blog that I put on my "Blogs" tab on my favorites (yes I do have a folder dedicated to just blogs- don't you??)
If you find someone who entertains you and you don't acutally know them-
are they still considered a friend?
Am I a friend to anyone I don't know?? I mean, there are hits from my blogs from places where I'm pretty sure I don't know anyone. Are the servers just off, or do I have people checking this blog that may not have ever met me?
So in case you haven't caught my 'subtle' prodding...
if you read this today leave a comment!!
I'll add you to my "Blogs" tab. Fair enough?

My Roots (the short version)
My high school was in Moriarty, NM about 10 mins. further east. Our mascot was the "Fighting Pintos". Rumor has it that once upon a time Moriarty's staple crop was the pinto bean. So the original mascot was a pinto bean, and eventually it rocketed up in coolness to just a plain Pinto.
Ever been to "The Land of Enchantment"?
(We used to call it the "Land of Entrapment" growing up).
