So, ever since last summer when our church meeting time changed from glorious 11 am to 2 pm I have been scrambling for Sunday Dinners.
When you roll into the house at about 5:20, there really isn't much time before the masses, who have already missed their naps, are starving and whining and causing a lot of chaos.
Lately I have taken to making a lot of crock pot meals, which have been great. My mother-in-law bought me this book a few years ago.
Until recently I haven't had a need to use it much, but that was before the dreaded time change. Now it has become a fixture to my Sunday morning routine.
However, I do have one suggestion. If I were one of these ladies I would have definitely used a pen name when putting claim to my recipe book.
"Good and RANK" so appealing.

LOL - hopefully that doesn't describe any of the recipes in that book! 2:00 church, really?? We go at 1:00 which is bad enough, but 2 would be worse... you have my sympathy!
Melissa- Sacrament Meeting is NOT pretty, but we are getting used to it! There are over 70 kids JUST in nursery! Can you say loud?
Nothing like having a good and ranck meal for Sunday Dinner. Too funny!
2:00 would suck....I'm a fan of 1:00, but then again, I'm single. I have 9:00 and I really don't like it. 11:00 is perfect!!
I'll have to try that book sometime. I never use my crockpot.
Gotta love good and rank food!
I, too, dread the 2:00 hour of church especially while sitting in Sacrament meeting realizing I didn't start the crock pot before we left. Nothing beats not eating before 7:00 on a Sunday night! Especially if it's a Fast Sunday!
P.S. Is that an alligator birthday cake in one of Jeremy's pictures? Love it!!
Okay... wait... did you say 70 nursery kids? As in SEVEN-ZERO? Wowsers... the most nursery kids we ever had in a ward was 35 - and that was a married student ward!
Yeah, our ward is kinda busting at the seams with children! I think there are around 14 pregnant people at this moment in time, as well.
We also dine on good and ranck every sunday, nothing better :)!
So you're in Pasco? My dad grew up there, and my cousin Staci H. lives out in the boonies in Pasco. I used to go there every summer and now that I'm back in Seattle I think we'll start the tradition again.
I have the two other books by them. I never noticed the authors! Crockpots are awesome! If you need some new recipes come over and I will share!
Eve-
That would be staci and nathan?? What a small world!
What a funny name. YOu should send that into Leno. It would be good enough to be on Headlines, I bet.
I love the 2:00 time. We all get to sleep in and then I do my music stuff for primary, get ready and go. The dinner thing used to suck, we'd all just eat cereal or whatever was fastest but now we all go to my mom's every sunday evening and have an actual homecooked meal, so no complaints here!
