So- I returned the others and paid a little bit more for the new, but overall I'm completely satisfied.
Jessica & Andrea gave me a gift certificate to Mac's for my b-day and I loaded up on the flowers to finally get these baskets up and out of the garage.
It may not look like much now, but in a few weeks these babies will be cascading like no body's business, or so I'm told.
I might also mention that I have been looking for a great watering can for years. I would always find one but I wasn't ever willing to shell out $40 for those that caught my fancy.
Then I randomly found the perfect one at Applegate Nursery a few weeks back. I quickly snatched it up and smugly showed Jeremy my purchase for under $5!! (I'm not even kidding).
His first and only words were "How are you going put water in it?"
"WHAT are you talking about?" I said.
He promptly showed me the bottom where there were four rather large holes in the metal.
Why didn't I notice? Because I was too fixated on the beauty and the dirt cheap price tag.
I was devastated, but since my father-in-law can "fix" anything it wasn't a total loss. He fixed the holes, I was redeemed for my mishap, and I LOVE watering the baskets with my charming watering can.
I feel truly Martha.

You ARE Martha girl! Look at those baskets! They are awesome! And I'm curious about the watering can... you'll have to post a pic if you can :) And you have a porch... I am trying not to be jealous... lol...
Hey, would you like some good mail? :) I've really enjoyed your blog and have something I'd like to send to ya, if that's okay...
These are great pictures of your flower baskets. I love it! I've been doing OK with my watering of my plants and garden. It's a big task for me to remember, but I enjoy using my watering can too!! I went to Applegate also and got some good deals!!
I posted a picture of the watering can, since it was a good suggestion. Its nothing over the top, but that's my style.
How lovely!! I'm finally getting to my backyard...it's not very large being that I live in a townhouse; but it's time for the weeds to go and something else to go in.
Cute watering can!
I love your baskets! I can't wait to see them at full cascading growth! Keep us updated!
I am also drooling over your porch and baskets! Very nice.
They look amazing, maybe you can come show me how to do those! Luke just laughs at me an my no-so-green thumb!
I LOVE your watering can! I have the same watering can quest. Or at least I would - - if I still had any living plants. Plants don't live too long around here.
But if I had a cute watering can....
I love the baskets! Your story about the watering can made me laugh. Buying a can that you thought was cute and a great deal, only to find out later about the holes, is totally something I would do!
So glad your father in law was able to help you out with that cute can! Your baskets look great! Happy watering!
I love the baskets and your porch. It will look great when the flowers are in full bloom. Great watering can. It was probably meant to be a planter but it is way cuter acutally used as a watering can.
I can't figure out why the can would have holes. Weird. Those baskets will be gorgeous in just a couple weeks. Way to go.
I couldn't figure it out either and I KNOW I picked up the only one with holes because I looked at them all!!
It just adds character to my can- and a great story for the blog!
