The day started off with the Freedom Festival Parade (at least that's what I think it's called) in Provo. Kaden hasn't really been to a big parade so we braved the crowds. My aunt and uncle and their family had camped out for two days to get a good spot! We were right next to the college guys who do a free pancake breakfast (too bad we had already eaten) and get on their roof and play the Jimmy Hendrix version of Star Spangled Banner with their electric guitars. So even before the parade started we were well entertained.
Kaden and Ethan waiting for the parade to begin.
There are a few "unofficial" parade walkers who begin before the parade and just walk the route. There were about 15 people dressed up in Star Wars garb who paraded through early. Here the boys give Anakin and Chewey fives. The highlight of the morning for Kaden was when Darth Vader walked by and pointed to Kaden and gave the nod. Seriously, that kid thought he had won the lottery!! He was so excited that the bad guy noticed him.
There were lots of fun cars in the parade.
And the best part is that they have REAL floats. Here you can see the bottom of one of them. Go Payson- it's all about the Onion Days!
The jets were flying by once in a while, love the Thunder!
Governor Huntsman shaking Ethan's hand.
The last entry in the parade is always the Provo, Ut Missionaries. Kaden and Ethan were excited to give the missionaries high fives and its always cool to see the entire crowd give a standing ovation as the elders and sisters walk by.
Back at Great-Grandma's house our family has been hosting the "Driveway of Fire" in Lehi, Ut for as long as I can remember. With my extended family plaguing the surrounding area once everyone brings a few fireworks we have enough to last us long into the night.
Kaden, Ethan, Brynnlee and Jensen waiting for it to get dark.
Kyla was so adorable in her festive outfit.
Nothing like jumping on the trampoline to waste away the hours.
Unfortunately, I have no pictures of the fireworks but you can trust we had a good time.

What a fun day! Josh and Jake would have thought they were in heaven meeting the Star Wars guys!
This template is really cool. I almost used the homespun dots. I really wish that she had shared the codes for her template. Wasn't that cool?
What a great 4th of July! How fun to be in UT with family! Cute pictures of all the kids!
We also were in Utah for the fourth and our plan was to go to the provo freedom parade, but I talked everyone out of it, since I didnt' want to have to get up so early, drive all the way to provo, fight the crowds for parking, fight the crowds for seating and then fight the crowds all over again to leave! But it looks like you had fun, and had some good hook ups with the aunt and uncle saving a seat for everyone!
Fun times, I love all the pictures!
LOVING the new look. Thanks for all the fun pictures. Looks like you had a great time!
