No idea what it means... well, I know what Thai cuisine is... not sure about the other. I have a friend that speaks Thai - I could ask, if you're really curious...
Never heard of any of this! I do like the idea of what Kristy said. Although what kind of name is Phuket? Maybe it's pronounced differently in another language!
Being that I'm surrounded by jr high kids all day, my mind is often in the gutter. My first thoughts were off the phonetic pronunciation, which of course is an expletive that should not be repeated. So glad is pronounced differently (even though they ought to reconsider it being on the sign in the first place).
I love reading your blog...you always have something original!Where do you get the super cute backgrounds? All I can find is the basic boring ones that everyone else has.

What exactly is it people are thinking when they put this stuff out?
Funny!
My guess is that it is a family name and that's what they named the restraunt. Just a guess.

Phuket is an island in Thailand and it is pronounced poo-ket'.
I giggle everytime I see that sign. Seriously.
The mystery is solved- I was hoping it was Poo-ket. But the sign is funny none the less.
