My Roots (the short version)

I grew up in Edgewood, New Mexico. Unfamiliar with that town? Let me introduce you! Edgewood is 20 mins East of Albuquerque and a tiny dot on the map, located directly on Historic Route 66. I drove that road everyday for many years.

My high school was in Moriarty, NM about 10 mins. further east. Our mascot was the "Fighting Pintos". Rumor has it that once upon a time Moriarty's staple crop was the pinto bean. So the original mascot was a pinto bean, and eventually it rocketed up in coolness to just a plain Pinto.

Ever been to "The Land of Enchantment"?
(We used to call it the "Land of Entrapment" growing up).

I've been to Albuquerque, but never east of there. You are so good at posting "creative posts". I need to learn from you. :)

Creative? You are too kind. I just get weird ideas in my head. This gives me an outlet to share things about me without looking like a conversation hog, or self-absorbed brat.

I agree with Jackie in that you have VERY creative posts...and no you will not ever seem like a self-absorbed brat. It is fun to learn new things about old friends!

I totally agree. You do it in such a different, creative way, it's so fun. I can't wait to see what little tidbit of information you'll share with us next. (I especially love to learn about different parts of the country. I enjoyed learning about N.M.)

Thanks for sharing. I love the picture of the hot air balloons. Reminds me of summer and good weather. Like today. :)

Heather, I figured from your comments you had been to N.M. at some point, but I didn't realize you're from there. That's so funny how you called it the Land of Entrapment, that is exactly what my family calls it and we're not from there originally. I've always vowed we'd never end up there, despite the fact that I have three family members pushing to get us there. After our last trip, though, I was definitely feeling the pull to head in that direction...more for family sake than N.M. sake. Do you still have family there? We'll have to get together sometime and compare notes. How did you end up here? Okay, that's a long enough comment, don't you think? :-)

I love the long comments... its like a mini-post.

I still have family in NM, and Jeremy and I ended up here because 1) Jeremy's family was here and 2)his job would transfer here.
