New, New, and Newer

The yard is starting to come alive and two babies arrived this weekend! So much fun!

I received a shipment of flowers every day last week and was in heaving planting every afternoon! Yesterday, I got my last shipment, *sniff* and yet I still have things I want to do to the yard. We spent this weekend finishing some yard projects, only to discover there is more we can always do.

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is go out early in the morning and check on all my stuff. I love seeing if new rose buds have appeared. If new strawberries, raspberries, peppers, or tomatoes, need to be picked and calculating how many zuccini's I need to give away that day! There is great satisfaction in checking up on your hard work.

Last, year I had fabulous sunflowers lining the garden fence. I'm hoping they come back this year (the package said perrennial) but I can't tell a difference between the weeds and the young sunflower plants- so I'm letting things go a little crazy in there for a few more weeks until I know for sure.

So, while we all wait with baited breath- enjoy Jewel. "A fat man takes my money" - the best line ever!

Wow, you really are a gardener.

I almost made Jewel my song of the day today, weird huh? Great minds think alike.

gardening is awesome! the product is always so fulfilling and beautiful. I remember when I was little my mom would always take me to the store let me chose my own flowers and make a planter or hanging basket. I always loved it! And of course i thought mine was the prettiest in the garden! haha. Now she has a huge vegetable garden and i love eating the food all summer long. yum

I am amazed you guys are sticking it out with hotget. I gave up on music on my blog altogether. It never worked for me. I could never get the song I wanted.
I absolutely LOVE working in my yard. Flowers only. Not vegetables. I don't eat them and have no desire to grow them, but I love taking care of my flowers and watching them grow and blossom and I LOVE to weed. Is that weird?
What babies arrived?

Sounds like a lot of fun! We are renting and we're not supposed to touch the landscaping. A gardener comes in each week to take care of it. Some people would love this, but it makes me crazy! I miss planting my own stuff. Have you ever gotten anything from freetreesandplants.com? It's a pretty neat site :) Good luck with your garden!

Melissa I haven't, but I'll have to check it out.

Naomi arrived, compliments of Jessica and Aleah came by way of Eden! :)

Lettuce isn't supposed to be a perennial, is it? We've got lettuce popping up in our garden from last year! We're not planting a garden this year because we're trying to sell our house! I'm so bummed! Our garden last year was so much fun for our family. Can't wait to do it again.

I wish I had a green thumb. Instead I paved the majority of my piddly backyard.

The music freaked me out at first. I stopped by your blog at work (in my classroom) and I was like "What the......" Then made the connection that it was coming from your blog. I had to close out quickly. Good thing my students were working and hardly noticed; but would have had I continued.

Kim- if you don't pull it out before it goes to seed it will come up again.

Kristen- I was laughing hard at your comment! If I was drinking milk it would have come out my nose.

You can bring that green thumb of yours right on over to my new backyard since I'll have LOTS of planting to do.

We can swap----my swimming skills for your gardening skills. Deal?

Alicia, I have not used hotget in a long time. They are sucking right now. But there are a couple of other sites, the best being songarea.com and next would be bestaudiocodes.com.

I'm happy to "pay" for your training in garden help! I just hope its an even swap- you may just get the bad end of the deal. You don't realize how poor of a swimmer I am- but I am reading Total Immersion!
