For the last 22 years our family (my dad and his brothers) has played the Annual Turkey Bowl in my grandma's front yard in Lehi, Ut. If you drive down 1200 East any Thanksgiving morning and you will see us out there- guaranteed. Uncle John has even been known to have a flag ceremony with the National Anthem playing on occasion. He thoughtfully retired that tradition a few years ago, along with his Lehi High Mid-drift Football Jersey.
But the game lives on! Who knows how many more years it will continue, but I dare say my dad and Uncles will be out there when they are in their 80's even if it means having to maneuver their electric wheel chairs onto the field.
Jeremy and I on the left looking very competitive.
Turkey Bowl: The next generation!
Let it be known Kaden even score a touchdown this year!!
See, I told you we are hardcore- we even make T-shirts.
A non-enthusiastic fan. But she's so cute!!

This is an awesome tradition! Yeah, I'm loving the picture of you and Jeremy. You guys look hard core...grrrr...
I have to say, I'd be with Brynners on the sidelines!
That sounds awesome! Our family used to do something similar but are numbers are dwindling as of late.
Yeah..we dont do it anymore since my dad got hurt once too many times! Glad the tradition lives on in your fam! ...and Brynners IS cute!!
I'll have to drive down that street; afterall, it's not too far away....
I too would be on the sideline! Our ward usually has one here at the school, but this year it didn't happen, Luke was so sad! Plus they NEVER have t-shirts! Ü
that sounds like fun. My Huband would really enjoy that being the total football buff that he is. I can't get him away from the TV during football season and we have TWO!!! CFL AND NFL!!! Imagine how much fun I have!
I love the T-Shirts! So cute! What a fun tradition. I can see now where you get your competitiveness from! Is that even a word?? Anyway, great pictures!
That looks like a lot of fun!! My hubby's family does that on occassion... but they call it the Toilet Bowl. Nice, eh? :)
Too fun! We had a Turkey bowl this year, too. And nobody landed in the hospital or anything!
What a fun tradition! I love the t-shirts!
How awesome is it that you guys make T-shirts for the occasion! Hope no one got hurt!
Heather, now that you've gone private, I always forget to come here and check out your new posts. I always just assume bloglines will let me know when you've updated, but of course it doesn't. So here I am behind on your posts!
