Glimmering Moment

Last night as I was driving one of the YW home we were talking about the very different dynamics of our new ward opposed to our old ward. For a 15 almost 16-year old she had some serious depth in her observations and thoughts. I listened and was so amazed at how she has grown up in the last few years since was one of "my beehives". I complimented her on her maturity and the strength of her ever growing testimony. And you know what she said??

"It's because I had great leaders, starting with you."

These are the moments when you look back and say that all the time, effort, planning, running around, organizing and in general being crazy while in Young Women's is worth it. Those tender mercies are what give me the strength and determination to keep going even when I think I have nothing left to give. Maybe I'll tell the Bishop to sign me up for another 4 years... maybe.

I bet you are an awesome leader! I'm so glad that you were able to have this moment... be careful before you sign on the 4 year dotted line ;)

Wow. That's a true pay-off, alright! You're amazing, Heather. And you have some pretty great maturity and insights yourself!~

Congrats on getting a rare pay-off moment! You deserve it.

That was so nice of her to tell you that. One little comment like that can make all the difference.

It was a fun evening with the first 9th ward social. I am with you...I hate change. I love that we have these new familar faces....lots of great talent. But....what I am having a hard time with is not having Bishop Jenkins as the Bishop. I love Bishop Peterson...but it is change and I just have to get used to it. I have been in three different wards in the eight years that I have lived in Pasco. Oh, well. I understand about leaving YW too! It took me awhile to stop thinking about the girls all the time....and not having something to do on Wed. night. You still will have a bond with the girls you served with. YW is so intense...you give your whole heart and soul to it! You made a great impression on that girl! She will always remember you!

Aww, Heather! That totally melts me. I love that she told you that. I have been thinking a lot about her, wondering how everything will go for her. I am so glad she has you and J.C. She is a rocking YW! I am so impressed with her!

But, you are amazing! I can't imagine having been in there as long as you have and to have to try to shut it off. It's been very hard for me, and I only had 6 mos. I'd totally sign up for the 4 more years. Seems more than worth it from that one ride home;)

I didn't even see this post, but I'm so glad that I saw it now.

That is a wonderful feeling. I've only met her a couple of times, but I'm already so impressed with her. I know that if I were a Beehive again, I would definitely want you for a leader!
