The New Face of Desperate

Have you ever gone back to the movie store in your pajama's and slippers to exchange a movie because you didn't bother looking to see what it was rated? That was me Saturday night. After watching about 15 minutes of the movie Jeremy turned to me and said "What is this rated?"

Totally mortified I said I didn't check, so I had no idea. I just remember we both said it looked like a good movie when we saw the trailer in the theater.

So I headed out the door with receipt in hand. Needless to say, the people looked at me like I was crazy when I asked if I could exchange the movie because I didn't bother looking at the rating before I rented it. Especially since that is "not their policy." Ok, yeah, whatever can I just return this movie I rented 3 hours before because I promise I didn't watch it.

And normally I wouldn't have even done that since we get all our movies free with our online subscription, but this one I ACTUALLY had to pay for... so there was no way I was losing my 5 bucks.

SO, here's forewarning. Check the ratings.... otherwise you'll look like a crazy PJ wearing housewife with nothing better to do on Saturday nights than try to get a two-fer-one on the movie renting.

I adore you Heather. You crack me up!

Um, can we have a word about the word verification???? I seem to remember a certain post....

I've done that before on a Saturday night too! They just look at you like, "Um...Ok!" But I got a refund too! Glad I'm not the only one!

I don't know how that happened Karen, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Maybe my comment format got jacked when I changed my template?? All better now.

Thank you Karen for bringing up the word verification! And thank you Heather, for fixing it!

Your story is hilarious! It reminds me, I've been meaning to post my recent Blockbuster experience but haven't done it. Check in later.

ROFL. That is hilarious. We have done that with Blockbuster and have had no problems. But it was normally because we rent it and realize we have already seen it. We're losers like that.

Gotta hate that.

Funny story: Some friends and I went to see a PG movie. The theater was full of families, which of course includes children. Well, the trailers came on, and they were all for these dark, sadistic horror flicks. We all just kinda looked at each other like "What the....?" Turned out the theater was being shared with an 'R' rated movie, so they were beginning to run that one. Someone finally clued in and made the switch. We were all given rainchecks at the end. I'm sure some kids were scarred.

Hurrah for the disappearing word verification!!
I've never had to do this, but I will learn from your experience so that I don't have to do it myself ;)

I just found out a couple of days ago that you had this new blog. Where have I been that I missed that announcement? I've been checking your other blog wondering why you haven't been updating!

Anyway, this very thing happened to us but I never thought I could take it back for a refund! I should have, darn it! Good for you!
