Not So Familiar

I thought that I wouldn't totally feel akward going to church, because I knew most of 3rd ward already.

WRONG.

I think there were 4 families from 3rd that looked familiar... and since our ward is like 1/4 old 6th and 3/4 old 3rd it was a really weird place to be yesterday.

But, I'm excited. I was invited to ward council yesterday and I was so impressed with our new bishop, actually everyone. I can't wait to get the ball rolling in our new ward.

In other news, I have been officially replaced in my 6th ward calling... which is sort of weird cuz I'm still doing it in our new ward. I was so sad when I heard the news. I really am replaceable. :)

Of course you're not replaceable, but someone has to teach the girls. She will never be as good as you.

No, you are not replaceable. I would have felt the same way yesterday if I was coming from 6th ward. It will get better.

Are you guys going to the ward social on Thursday?

It was weird going to first ward too. I'm sure it will be a great ward but I just don't like change very much. It was nice moving when we did though. Somehow it was comforting knowing that a good chunk of the stake was having the same "first Sunday awkwardness" we were having.

Ward changes are always a little weird at first... give it some time and in a little while you won't know how you lived without these people ;)

WOW! Ward changes are always a little crazy. We started a new ward from scratch ( several pieces of several wards) a couple of years ago, and we are only now starting to lose the "us" and "them" feeling.
What's your new calling?

If it makes you feel any better, I think everybody felt that way yesterday regardless of what ward they are in. Our ward has had quite a few new families move in and I feel like there are so many people to get aquainted with. Plus, it was just a frenzied day because of the schedule change and being in a new building, no one new where they were going or what classes were where. It felt very strange. And you are not replaceable, I'm sure they'll snatch you up in your "new" ward.

You are not replaceable.

I hope your Sacrament meetings are at least a little quieter.
