I Didn't Get any Lagoon Coupons but I Got a Good Little Chuckle

As I was flipping through Deseret Book's latest catalog the other day I noticed they had some movies advertised. But these were like normal, Hollywood produced movies not the typical mormon ones. Two of the movies I have seen, and I like them and think they are cute. So, I'm not trying to be all judgemental BUT I did find it ironic because I haven't seen either of these movies forever and I still know that in
The Princess Bride
{Uhhh... cute little Fred Savage totally says
"*****, Grandpa why are you reading this" or something kinda like that}
E.T.
{This little guy get's toasted on some Coors }
In.ter.esting.
Maybe it's the pregnancy, but seeing these in Desert Book just totally cracked me up. Perhaps they should stick to Baptist's At Our Barbeque, Singles Ward and Charlie. I think those are a little safer for the general population.

What is this world coming to???

Before I read the bad stuff that really is in it I thought what is wrong with those being in there, hee hee! Guess my memory is nothing like yours!!

You have an amazing memory, I would have just flipped by them and thought nothing of it. That is just proof that Satan is EVERYWHERE! You should write a letter!!!

I don't know why I remember that stuff... I guess I have nothing better to do with my time than critique D.B. My life is awesome! :)

AND please don't think I'm looking down on D.B. or these movies, I actually like both of them and Kaden has seen Princess Bride and I would let him watch E.T.

I guess it just caught me off guard to see them in the catalog.

Mattie and I just watched ET the other night. I actually have that movie.. And I had completely forgotten about the coors part. You are so right in saying just stick to the regular things. ET still scares me though.. Phone home and his creepy hands. I had forgotten all the parts and I think I was more scared this time than when I watched it the first time.

I don't know... the Princess Bride is easier for me to handle at Deseret Book than ET.
I remember seeing ET in the theater and being scarred for life because one of the boys used a derogatory term I had never heard before. Between that and the beer, I thought it was horrible.
What a laugh, compared to now, huH?

Hey, at least they're branching out. Sorry, but the Baptist BBQ and the LDS version of Beauty and the Beast just don't appeal to me.

I love ET and so does Kendle, but there is one line where I think it's Elliot calls his brother a ----- head. Of course that's the one thing that the kids would pick up on. I love the Princess Bride as well, those lines never get old - "inconceivable".

The last time I was in DB I was surprised at some of the books they carried... not that they were horrible, it just took me off guard...
