What's Weirder?

So it's Thursday and one of the first years in a long time I'm not making an appearance at girls camp. It feels weird, but not as weird as my now braceless teeth. Yes, after almost 2 1/2 years the teeth are complete! I just got them off about an hour ago and I can't wait for you to see.

Fridge-R-rating

Last week Amy requested photos of our fridges. Here's mine in all it's un-staged glory.

What does this say about our family?
It says:
  • We don't have a showroom kitchen fridge.
  • I'm taking a glucose test in a few weeks, and even though I've done it twice before I kept the directions just so I don't mess anything up.
  • I have a remote for my undercabinet cd player in case those 5 steps across the kitchen seem insurmountable.
  • We are halfway through the Book of Mormon in our family reading.
  • I'm so sick of the Singing Tad and his farm animals and alphabet that he's been removed, but some magnets still remain.
  • Jeremy's jury duty has been deffered until August.
  • I'm a sucker for Relief Society magnet handouts- I just can't toss them without it feeling sacreligious. :)
  • Jeremy and I are nervous parents. Before opening our Wii we sat down as a family and created rules and had Kaden and Brynns sign a contract. Scoff, but it has been great during many a Wii-related meltdowns.
  • We have a lot of weddings to attend.
  • I have $20!?!?!
  • My grocery list is way too long.
  • I have intentions of taking my kids to the Free Family Film Festival at least once this summer.
  • And a whole lotta other things....
Let's see what your fridge says!

Dance Machine

Brynnlee has mastered a variety of dance styles...

Father's Day Gift

About 32 years ago a ward in Idaho Falls had a little pioneer activity and these pictures are a product of the fun.

A few years ago Jeremy's parents were getting rid of stuff and we laid claim on these family pictures. The frames were old, falling apart and in general in sad shape so they found a home in our office closet.

About one year ago we decided it would be fun to recreate these photos with our own family. (The family one didn't turn out so great) but Kaden's picture has been hanging in our hallway all alone. So this year for Father's Day I decided I wanted to finally get them all together. Here's the result.

It was tricky, since the old photos are not a standard size, and I wasn't in a position to be able to afford custom frames for two pictures... but after a few months of looking and thinking I finally found something that would work and I love it. I think Jeremy liked it too.

Fishing: A How To Guide

First you have to get yourself some bait.

I can't believe she actually picked them up.

You may want to test your bait beforehand... or not.

Then you are ready to bait your hook and cast the line.

Be prepared to do a whole lot of waiting...

When you finally 'hook one' it may surprise you, but be ready to reel it in.

Sometimes fish aren't ready to give up even when they hit the shore, so be prepared to chase it down if necessary.

Consoling your catch after it's defeat is optional.

But taking pictures is NOT.

This fish's name was Waldo, can you find him?

She's still got some girl in her...

No matter the size be proud of your catch!

Wedding Cake

We set up the cake Saturday afternoon. Sunday morning at church Kate finds me to tell me the bride and groom called her during dinner (she and James had a celebratory dinner at PF Changs after the cake set up to commemorate the end of James' police testing and super-psycho diet/workout schedule).

"Oh no, what happened!?" were my exact thoughts.

Luckily, they had just called during the middle of their reception to tell her how amazing the cake looked. Yay!

Whoops!

So the phone call at 7:30 AM this morning made me VERY aware of how untimely my blogging break was. Really, I should have known that it's bad practice to put a kind of depressing post right before I left the cyber-world. But thanks for checking on me Michele!

Our family is doing great, the baby is fine and I am busy as always, hence the reason for the break. Anyway I have been wanting to post, but the posts have require pictures and I CAN NOT find my USB cable for my camera! So I'm kind of stuck. But I have a cool Father's Day picture to share, my fridge post, and the wedding cake Kate and I finished this week. So stay tuned if I ever uncover the cable I'll be able to bring you up to speed on my week.

ALSO, just to show you how small the world really is... I checked this lovely lady's blog (who I haven't ever met) the other day and realized I recognized someone from her recent trip home. After an email from her and confirmation from Jeremy and Sara I was sure of my suspicions. So if you are local check it out and see if you recognize someone too.
Here's a hint: It's a guy.

A Ray of Sunshine

It seems the last few weeks have been riddled with bad news. So in an effort to "Keep on the Sunny Side" and realize the good let me share this link! Enjoy the sun...

Facebook

Guess what, I just allowed Facebook to access my email list to find, ya know, "long lost friends". With the exception of a few, the friends I found were all my blogger buddies. So if you are getting my friend request and think I'm a stalker sorry BUT {Randi} don't be trying to ignore it. :)

Mariners Cuties

All the kids before the game. Ethan, Jensen, Kaden and Brynnlee.

Another shot before the game.
Life is good when you have your own seat!
He's cute for an Angels fan...
Brynnlee spent innings 4-8 snuggled up to Daddy for a nap.
This little guy did a great job of keeping me warm!

Brynnlee had to have a Rally Monkey.
I must admit they are pretty cute together.

One last shot before we said goodbye.

Birthday Fun

We spent the better part of a day here.
Don't worry, I liked it and the kids loved it.
The Mariners hosted the Angels... and, of course, lost.

Here are our GREAT seats. We were only 8 rows from the field!

I treated myself to some garlic fries not once, but twice *gasp*.
Seriously good, but the breath afterward- not so nice!

And then this surprise awaited me.

To see the cute kiddos skip over to the family blog!

We ended the day by visiting with my Grandma over in Seattle.

Grandma and I share our brithdays and this year we were swapping birthday years. She was born in 1928 and I turned 28 and I was born in 1980 and she turned 80. How cool is that? So since it was a big milestone with Grandma Joan turning 80 this year my brother and his family came up, my mom flew in, and my grandma's brother Dave flew in as well. It was nice to see lots of family and spend our Special Day together!

I just wish I would have thought to take out the camera.

For the Love of Cake

I couldn't resist posting this. I'll attend to my household duties soon enough. Kate and I created this cake last week for Preschool Graduation. The theme was "Wild About our Graduates" and they use Zoo Phonics in the classroom.
Seriously this is my favorite cake so far.
Love, love, love it.
(is that snotty to say about your own creations?? i hope not.)

I'm Back

And we had so much fun. But today I'm on "get this household back on track" duty. See you when I pull myself out of the trenches.
