Wha?

I am not old.
I am a mere 28 1/2 years old.
But lately I'm feeling old. Really old.

I attended a bridal shower for a former YW tonight.
Old.

While I was there I chatted with another former YW who just celebrated her 3rd wedding anniversary.
Older.

And recently I've been seeing lots of blogs of people in my ward who are celebrating anniversaries and birthdays that are much smaller numbers than mine.
Oldest.

I'm wondering when Jer and I transferred spots as the "cute newly married couple" to the "old people with 3 kids."

Although to be fair, I think in any other ward we'd still be considered young. It's just this one... so really, I'm still young & cool.
Right? Riiiight.

You are not old Heather! :) This made me laugh so much, cos when I turned 22 this September, I felt all old and stuff..glad Im not the only one who has these crazy thoughts! :)

I've thought that many times too. It's funny how when your number of marriage gets closer to the 2 digits, you seem so old. The three kids does make the young couples with just one child seem so young. We've made the same transition over here too! You seem young to me, if that helps at all! :)

It used to drive me insane when people in their 30's and 40's (see, the 20's don't even make the cut in my social circle anymore) would talk about being old. Now I totally get it. One of my former YW facebook'd me the other day to add me to her "Mom's group". I was all, "Helllloooo, I could BE your mother." And it's true!!

Old??? Whateva! Let's talk old ME!!! at uh....29...yeah that's it 29!!! Seriously you are a former Somerville..you are hip and with it. You are so young as your attitude...hence i am known for my childlike enthusiaism although Jerry would call it childish...heh heh heh

And I'm 4 years older than you so where does that put me??? It's a very bizarre feeling. I thought the same thing at shower, watching our sweet YW getting nighties while another former YW sat nearby who also has a few months of marriage under her belt. Weren't we all just at Girl's Camp????

Oh, dahling, you've only just begun. It's bizarre, isn't it?

Yes Heather, of course you are still young and hip and cute and all of that. As long as I can still be those things, too, and I am like 3 years older than you!!

You are totally young and cool.

At least you're not an old spinster in the making.

Of course you are not old. You have three young kids. I don't think you're allowed to think your old until you have grandkids or are empty nesters. Even then it's negotiable.

Well if it makes you feel any better I'm 30!! I have 5 and we've been in the ward for nearly 8 years!! So now I'm wondering at what point I rolled into the category of the old couple with kids. Is it the number of kids or just how long you've been in the ward.

It is a weird transition to go through. I feel the same way everytime I see someone I used to babysit or have in primary going to high school dances and things like that.

dude you are totally young. i hang out with friends older than you. and that is why you keep having cute little babies because it keeps you young:) i was glad to see you at the shower. you looked great!

I bet the was a crazy feeling. But, hey...we are still totally young. Then again, maybe I'm just saying that because if you're still young, so am I!

"Old people with 3 kids" title belongs to me and the Hub Cap. Yep, it's ours. :D

So if you're the old ones in the ward, that really makes me and Spence ancient!!!

Speaking as a 26 and a 1/2 year old with only 2 1/2 children, you are SOOOOOOO old. You're like a role model to me.

you can still hang out with the best of them! Your not getting older just smarter :)

Except, the kids I taught in primary are having children. If your age starts with a twenty something, YOU CAN'T COMPLAIN!!

I remember moving into a ward where a lot of the people had only been married a few months. We had a whole 2 years under our belts at that time and they were just amazed...
Does it make you feel any better to know that I'm older than you are? :)

LOL.....Donald and I have been saying the exact same thing. We were recently at a birthday party for a man in our ward when we looked around and realized that we were the oldest couple there and had the most kids. Crazy.

Right. I'm 32. My husband is 30. You're a youngin'

It all depends on how you feel. Do you feel 25? Then live like that!

You old lady! I totally know how you feel! I feel really old when I realize I'm a mother of 4 kids. And then I remember I'm only 27. But people I used to babysit are celebrating wedding anniversaries? My baby brother is about to get married?? Weird.

Been there.. Actually just recently feeling that way. so many of my favorite people are a lot younger and at totally different stages in life, I am the old one. Its doesn't necessarily feel good all the time to be to "wise, old married one with lots of kids experience" in the group. So glad I have Friends who are lots older then me too!

You're definately not old. I feel old that I am a beehive advisor. But yet...I am not old. I think wards make people feel old.

Heather,
I have been meaning to update you on this little known fact! LOL I love ya!

Well, you'll always be younger than me, so maybe that will give you some comfort.

still young and cool. I told Mick that him and I are "middle aged" now - that's scary!
