The juice is trickling

... the creativity is not quite flowing, but I'll take what I can get.

I have yet to take to the pavement. Which means I haven't started running. Which means I haven't run for approximately 14 months. Which means I might be in trouble when and if Ella starts sleeping and I make my first attempt. UGH. I have noticed the mornings getting lighter, and slightly less frigid, and Ella did actually sleep until 5:30 this morning, so I may need to lace my runners up. Which is good, yet intimidating at the same time.

When is that Triathlon, again? Don't worry I won't sell out, but I just may be the last person crossing the finish line this year.

Any suggestions for a great running playlist??

I am right there with you. I have been feeling so slugish lately. I know I need to start SOMETHING but I just can't get my butt out of bed. Can I crawl across?

Wow, I admire you. Just to even have the thought to get up and run. Here's me sitting on my butt on my bed at a computer next to a keyboard, thinking how cool it is that so many people get out there and run. Go, you guys. (Good luck!)

I understand. I keep setting my alarm to get up, but then I come up with excuses to stay in bed until 7am. I'm trying to come up with some good motivation...

You can do it! You got us all into this mess so now we have to start preparing.

I'll start thinking of running songs....

It's both hard and fun to start running again, isn't it!!
My problem with running playlists is that I can find either inspiration (ie David Cook's Time of My Life), OR beats per minute (ie Britney Spears' Lucky [eww])
But rarely do I find both in one song...

I am right there with ya. I've had good intentions...but haven't stepped out onto the pavement either ;)

I always run to Madonna. I know, I know....but seriously old school Madonna gets my feet movin!

hmm... i must be the lamest runner on the block because I love a good podcast!! My favorite is a local morning show from Sacramento but I've been supplementing it with Dr. Dobson and Mandarin Chinese lessons!! If it is going to be music I've always been partial to the dixie chicks... (in spite of their disgusting politics!)

There was a CD I almost bought yesterday at Walmart called Totally Workout or something like that...But the songs were all pretty intense.
Or you could always go classic with Journey and ABBA....loooove them
Good luck, I know you will do great!!

Don't worry....I never hit the pavement. I'm a treadmill girl, but even then, it's walking for me.

Good luck!

I won't be doing any sort of exercising til at least mid April. So I'm enjoying all the good eats and laziness. :) Good Luck getting started.

Good Luck! I'm going for my first run today in a couple of weeks and I am really looking forward to getting out in the fresh air.

I listen to whatever makes me happy, I've said it before that as long as it is good music I want to keep going. So in my case, it doesn't have to be an upbeat play list, just one full of songs that I love.

But in case you need some ideas...I made a workout iMix last year...it has some upbeat songs on it...click here.

"Buffy" this girl rocks.

Getting motivation to work out is tough, it just doesn't always sound appealing early in the morning when you're barely awake.

My workout playlist is mostly fast stuff that makes me want to keep going. One of my favorites to run to is Geometry &c. by Chris Walla, it has a line in it that says "let your heart keep the time" that always makes me think about my heart rate.

I like the Muse song from Twilight, 'Supermassive black hole' and Natasha Bedingfield 'Pocket full of sunshine'. Too bad you don't live closer and we could go running together this summer.

Just give up and go back to bed. Wait, that's just what I say to me, not anyone else.
