Welcome to 2007

The Beck's have finally arrived!

Over the last few years we have been given a lot of grief over our stone age ways of "taping" shows with our VCR as our friends smugly paused and then fastforwarded live television with the help of TiVo and DVR. Well, the cable guy left and a freshly installed DVR is sitting atop my VCR. Now we can proudly say we have joined the rest of country by stepping into the 21st century.

I no longer need to search through unlabled blank tapes to find the latest episode of the many shows I try to keep on top of. Today I even threw out one of our "tapes"- mainly because Brynnlee had pulled out some of the ribbon and was using like a purse, but its progress.

I'm really hoping that it wasn't the tape with last night's episode of LOST, but I guess I'll find out tonight as I watch my LAST "taped" show. If it so happens that LOST was on the purse tape- anyone DVR it last night??

I thought Lost didn't start again until Feb 7th. right? Did I miss it? Do I have to go watch it on ABC.com because I am not above that, but really, it hasn't started, right?

Oh, and welcome to the future Heather. Sad to say, but DVR has changed my life. Congratulations!

I wish I was part of the future. Living with Bryan's family we have had Tivo, but now that we are going to live with my parents...back to the old fashion way of VCR tapes. Their VCR is 10+ years old... we might have to find ours out of the boxes and use it. Wish us luck!

We don't have cable or tivo or DVR or anything like that. We have two sets of "rabbit ears" and we get ONE good channel, two "ok" channels and one crappy channel.

Lost doesn't start up again until Feb. 7th so you girls are good. Heather, that is very exciting news. It's a little embarrassing to admit, but the DVR is one of my favorite things ever! I didn't become a couch potato on my own. I had major help from the DVR.

I tell people it will change the way you watch TV! I love it so much! I find my self listening to Dave Ramsey or Dr. Laura and want to rewind what they just said and have to remember that I am listening to radio and not a show on TV that I can rewind!! Kelly and I are able to get up on a Saturday and watch the weeks shows and just fast forward through the credits and commercials. We also found that we need DVR to watch The Office since we will be laughing so hard we have to rewind it to hear what is said after someone gives a zinger!

Welcome to the 21st century Heather! I've turned into a total TV snob. I have a hard time watching anything without the DVR. Live TV stinks!

Yeah, we are so spoiled with our DVR that when we actually watch something live, and the we have to sit through the commercials, we're such babies. We sit there impatiently like, "Are you serious? Back to the show already". You will never go back.
