This movie is awesome. If you haven't seen it, where have you been? Come on over, I'll introduce you to the wonderment that is early LDS movies.
The first time I remember seeing Johnny Lingo was at a youth fireside. The highlight of the meeting was the reaction of our YW President's 6 year old son. Bob's eyes, upon seeing Mahana returning back to the island in all her beauty, popped out of his head, he plastered a big smile on his face and loudly said Ma-Ha-Na! He was totally smitten. True story.
Do you love Johnny Lingo? Anyone seen the new version? Maybe I should try that one for my kids who do not appreciate this movie. At. All.

We watched Johnny Lingo in seminary about 55 times. You have to appreciate the classic that it is.
Oh my gosh, I used to hate this film solely for the fact that Nate would call me an 8 cow girlfriend all while we were dating. I know! How sweet is that?! None of our non-lds friends understood why he was calling me that and thought he was pretty strange. Lovely. You gotta love Mormon culture.
What? There's a new Johnny Lingo? I think I might need to see that one. Love the old one!
The new version's not nearly as good. Seen it once. Cute; but certainly not the classic of the old school 1969 one.
perhaps not as cool as old skool, but we own the new version and really we were impressed that the movie company didn't mess it up!
our 12 year old loves it and regularly it can be found on our tv, atleast on most sundays. =) and we've had it since it came out on DVD. so if it still keeps our girl happy, then i say its a keeper! =)
I never quite understood the wonder that is this movie. Maybe b/c I was inactive during my youth....I don't know. But, maybe I should search for it somewhere and check it out again. :)
I loved his (Bob's) reaction to the refreshments, "IT'S COOKIE TIME"! He was a crack up.
I love the new Johnny Lingo. It is very well done! It has been two years since I've seen, so maybe a movie night is in order!
Johnny Lingo is one of the classics. Love it.
Ah, Johnny Lingo! Such good times! I HAVE seen it, but I would still be up for a movie night!
although I have not seen the new one. is it any good?
You are so funny Heather! I want to see this new version as well! I have to admit, I haven't seen the old one since becoming an adult, and I am curious if I would like it better now than when I was a sarcastic teenager?
